Terms of sale and adoption

Thank-you for choosing to purchase an exotic pet from Kindercritters Exotics!

Each of our babies comes with a 14 day health guarantee. If at any time during this period your baby does not meet your expectations in health or maintenace requirements, you can return the baby for a refund or exchange providing you have followed all of the recommendations for basic care; i.e. appropriate room temperature, access to proper food and water, housing, etc... The baby must be returned, at the buyers expense, before a refund or exchange can be issued. We reserve the right to request vet records in health issue refunds. In the event of the death of a baby during this period, a necropsy will need to be performed to determine the cause of death. Please contact us immediately for preperation instructions. A refund WILL NOT be given under any circumstances if the vet performing the necropsy confirms neglect or abuse.

Baby hedgehogs should be registered with the International Hedgehog Registry. We ask that you contact us at (406) 323-3291 once your baby is named so that we may enter your information and the baby's name into the registry. Completing the registration is free and is extremely important as we use this registry to track and research various health issues and to prevent the inbreeding of closely related lines. Once your baby is registered its lineage can be traced. In the event that a genetic defect or other health issue should arise this information will be beneficial to us, to you, and possibly your vet.

****Special note: ****

Your baby rabbit, hedgehog, or chinchilla comes with a 3 year guarantee against certain genetic defects (for baby hedgehogs this goes into effect once it is registered). If at any time your hedgehog becomes afflicted with WHS (Wobbly Hedgehog Syndrome-see care sheet) or anything that mimics the symptoms of WHS we ask that you contact us immediately and submit to Necropsy once your hedgie crosses the bridge. If necropsy is cost prohibitive, please let us know and we will do what we can to assist you. In the event of a positive WHS diagnosis through your own vet's lab, please let us know so that we may red-flag the line and notify the registry as well as the owners of any littermates and we will gladly give you a replacement from another litter or one of our retired hedgehogs at no cost.Baby rabbits and chinchillas are guaranteed against malocclusion. The genetic health guarantee for your Glider is outlined in the Care-sheet that comes with your new pet.

For Rescue adoption situations:

Kindercritters SPECIAL REQUEST:

If you should decide at some point that any of our babies are not the pet for you or should you need to place your pet for any reason, we ask that you please contact us before running ads or consigning to pet stores. We may be able to help you with placement into safe, educated, and loving homes.

Please understand that if for some reason your new pet does not work out, we prefer that you NOT to take this pet to a shelter or turn it over to a caregiver not educated in the care and well being of the animal. Also, please understand that it is illegal to release an animal of captive breeding into the wild and do not do so as, in the end, this can impact the rights of all exotic pet owners. Understand that these animals require your care, time, compassion and veterinary care and, as well, that the costs incurred could be quite substantial. Please do not withhold veterinary care or other necessities from this pet due to a lack of funding. Should this problem arise, we ask that you seek out Kindercritters Exotics, a qualified rescue, or someone equally able to care for this animal.

Kindercritters Exotics reserves the right to alter these terms without prior notice at any time we feel it is necessary.

Many Thanks and Many Smiles!
